The goal of this packaging project was to introduce a well loved treat of the Samoan Islands to the world through chocolate. I wanted the aesthetic to be true to Samoa and not an interpretation of what island life is. I did this through using traditional Samoan Tatau and Tapa (Bark fabric printed with natural dyes) designs with added texture on a linen paper. I envision this product being sold anywhere from a gift or souvenir shop, to World Market or New Seasons. The target market would be a consumer looking for something new and exotic to try on their leisurely visit to the store.
